When asked this question, Dr. Rick C. Ernst said: There have been many big challenges in my life. However, I would have to say that overcoming severe dyslexia has been my biggest life challenge.
When I was in the second grade, I was diagnosed with a very severe case of dyslexia, which is a learning and reading disability.
In those days, reading and spelling were very difficult for me since that time; I have studied very hard and, with the help of specially trained reading teachers, have overcome my reading problem for the most part. However, to this day, I still have difficulty with some things.
But I make it a priority to never look at what I do not have, only what I do have. As I frequently say, It’s not the ability you have that makes you successful; it’s how you see and use your ability that determines your success.
